Most travellers tend to stay in Paihia, but you can take the Bay Belle Ferry across to Russell. The ride takes about 30 minutes. You can easily spend a day in Russell so make it a day trip. Click here for Russell Activities

Fullers Passenger Ferry heading from Paihia to Russell

The Bay Belle runs till 9.30pm – 10.00 pm most nights so stay for Dinner in Russell at one of the many waterfront restaurants. The Bay Belle is the orginial channel ferry. But there are several other sister ships that take the same route, including the Waimarie. So you don’t need to get back on the Bay Belle to get back to Paihia.
